hey thats really good i like it very much
thank you very much...
There's alot of 1984 art on DA and although some of it's good, but it's all very similar. The same well known symbols and slogans. Where as yours is quite different.

I love it!

The statement I get from this piece is that the Proles are being bred as a faceless workforce. Animals in the farm. Their lives are meaningless to the party, and they're not considered as human as party members.

The city in the background seems to be made of the reports that Winston and the others in the Ministry of Truth churn out everyday. A city/nation built out of the lies and propaganda the party generates.

I keep looking at that strange illustration down in the bottom left. Looks like a factory built on constellations. Reminds me of the 'Wasp factory' by Iain Banks for some reason!

Cheers...

Oh thank you very much for your nice comment. My impression from 1984 was never fully political, I always thought about the people. As individuals, who are not allowed to be individuals.(sorry for my English, I´m from CZ) .. and yes, that´s exactly what I wanted, the background is made from propaganda words (from 1930´s nazi magazine actually) to make an alusion of Ministry of Truth. The thing in bottom left is applicated just for fun and has no sense. But you made it have sense... I´ve never heard of Wasp factory, it might be good..
I'm the same. For me 1984 is all about human perspective. If you can control the way a person perceives the world, you can make them see and hear whatever you want, you can make them believe whatever you want. With 1984 the ultimate symbol of that is when the party convinces it's citizens to think paradoxically; War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength. Doublethink.

Wasp Factory is Iain Banks first novel. It's really good. I suppose you would call it a horror because it does have some of those elements in it but it's alot more than just blood and guts. Definitely worth a read!

Cheers.

Yes, a doublething. I was shocked with the chapter when someone from the ministry died (or was killed) and another day he "never existed".. It´s fantastic how Orwell in 1948 predicted what happened few years later in my country and whole east-block. And Animal farm is about the same thing, it´s also a breathtaking book. Thank you for the tip- I ´ll try to find Wasp factory in local library. And I like horrors :-)
Animal farm... great book. I should read that again.

Yeah, the fact that a person doesn't only disappear but is made so that they never existed is a very scary thought. Erased from history.

If you like Horrors, have you read any Clive Barker?
Hellraiser? Great and Secret Show? Imajica?

Hey, that´s funny, I don´t know anything from the books you´ve named. Only Hellraiser the film, I know it exists but haven´t seen it. I like King´s books, Palahniuk´s prose (not horror as a genre, but very disturbing stuff) and horror movies.. well, many. From those silent film as Nosferatu, to Rosemary´s Baby and Exorcist and The Shining. I like to watch every new horror, some I like, some not...
Hellraiser the book is alot better than the film. If you find some Clive Barker, try and get a copy of Imajica, it's a masterpiece. Starts off like a normal tale of a painter in Paris and then twists into something dark and epic.

I love The Shining. Great film.

Have you ever read or watched Nightwatch or Daywatch? That's another case where the book is far far better than the films, but they're still worth a watch if you like Vampires and Mages.

Never heard of Palahniuk before, I'll look them up!

Cheers.
